Hanging Cactus

Schlumbergera is a flowering indoor plant. This glam flowering cactus can make a design piece in any modern house. It has sturdy flat leaves with curved spikes that are strung together, ending in flower buds. Its hanging colourful flowers in bright colours are like decoration from the end of autumn or the start of winter.

This is not the usual cactus you think it is. Direct sun will burn it so keep it in a bright spot, and it can also tolerate low light but it will bloom less. Moisture is important as well. The plant requires frequent and thorough watering by keeping the soil slightly moist. However you need to allow moisture levels to drop and dry out between watering, but never completely, and never let it sit in water, as this will lead to root and stem rot.
