Workshop #2

The Earth Mama store is a plant shop but it is so much more than that. It is a concept store, it is a meet up point, and it is created to bring people together so we are happy to announce that we will be hosting here workshops. We choose our co-hosts very carefully. Always looking for like-minded people that will help us learn a new skill and enhance our lifestyle in some way. Great energy and positive life outlook is also key! We are hosting our second workshop with Caricia Ceramics, a visual artist, a sculptor and a teacher. Charisia Chatz, who is behind  holds Caricia Ceramics, holds a BA degree in Fine Art Sculpture from the University of Brighton, UK and a MA in Curating Art & Design awarded by Kingston University in partnership with the Design Museum, London. She also obtained a diploma in Video Arts Production from the University for the Creative Arts, UK. Her academic and professional experience covers a wide spectrum around visual arts and cultural institutions. She has collaborated with organizations such as the Benaki Museum, the Museum of Cycladic Art, the Theocharakis Foundation, the NEON Organization, the DESTE Foundation, as well as with private collections of contemporary art, such as the Dakis Joannou collection and the D.Daskalopoulos collection. She has also participated in exhibitions in Greece and the Great Britain. Her experience in various artistic events includes her participation as a set designer in short film productions and her orchestration of artistic installations for cultural institutions. She has also served as a tutor at the Art & Design Department in the private education sector and in 2021 she created her personal ceramics-sculptures brand Caricia Ceramics. On “Day 1” you will learn two traditional hand building techniques using professional white clay. You will create two items, a planter and a flower vase and these items will be left to dry out naturally to be ready for paint on your second session. On “Day 2” you will learn how to sand both your vessels and hand paint them using clay coloured ink with  special design inspiration and support from our host. After both sessions are over, your vessels will be sent to the kiln to be fired and glazed professionally. As soon as the items are ready we can arrange the pick up of your items from the Earth Mama store. All materials are provided. No experience needed. There will be drinks and snacks! The workshop will be in Greek however we can speak in English if needed. 

You will leave with your very own flower vase and planter. All materials are provided. This workshop is for four people, a small intimate event that you get to have one on one time with our host and meet like-minded people. The cost for the workshop is 80 euros for both days and you can pay online to book your place. There will be drinks and snacks!
